CWI Cake

I was fortunate enough to do a cake and cupcakes for the College of Western Idaho.  Both tiers are chocolate fudge cake with a whipped ding dong filling, chocolate frosting and finished in fondant.  The cupcakes are also chocolate with a whipped ding dong filling and frosted in buttercream.  Also, to be placed on top are a sculpted woman and podium, but it is best to only place those once.   I tried very hard to match the green, yellow, and red to the official colors of the college, and they are amazingly close.  Thanks to the college for letting me be a part of their celebration.

Memorial Service Cake

This cake was designed to the specific requests of the family.  It is a white butter cake that is iced and filled with buttercream.  The calla lilies are hand made and tinted with silver petal dust for a soft shimmer.  The family wanted a very simple cake to match the beloved memory of their mother who led a beautiful but simple life.  My best wishes and condolences to the family during this hard time.

Polka Dots

I love how this cake turned out.  It is simple but so fun that it is perfect for all ages.  This is a white butter cake with raspberry filling covered in fondant with fondant accents.

Rocket Cake

Everything on this cake is edible.  The rocket is sculpted out of rice krispies and covered in gumpaste and fondant.  This happens to be a chocolate cake with ding-dong filling with a coordinating chocolate cupcake, also filled,  and iced in chocolate.

Princess Castle Revisited

I was  lucky enough to make another castle cake for a lucky first birthday.  I love first birthdays and there is something so special about them  Both tiers are confetti cake filled with buttercream.  I love how the sugar-coated turrets pop.

Peanut Butter Cupcake

I wish that the picture did this cupcake justice.  We had a family reunion to go to and I wanted to try something new.  There is nothing like trying a new recipe on strangers!  It is a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter filling and peanut butter frosting. The peanut butter frosting stays soft and creamy.  My husband liked it so much it scooped some into a bowl and ate it with a spoon.  Pretty soon he was putting it on graham crackers, cake, and declared the recipe a keeper.  That means a lot coming from him!

I topped it with a hand piped chocolate G for our last name.  We originally had them standing up, but with the high temperatures outside (and we will be outside), we laid them down instead. I like them a lot better standing up but sometimes we have to sacrifice in the name of practicality.

My Next Project

Anybody who knows me knows how much I adore cupcakes and I love that they are "in style" right now.  I had asked for these cupcake stands for Christmas last year and didn't get them, but I'm going to get them this year!  They make a beautiful display and cupcakes are so much easier than somebody behind a serving table trying to cut cake and make it look presentable all night.  The top is still large enough to place a cake on for the couple to cut and save if they wish.   These are some that a friend in Ohio has done.  I love it!!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I wish that I could take the credit for finding this chocolate chip cookie recipe, but I can't.  My little brother shared it with me and I haven't looked back since then.  They are super soft and melt in your mouth and I have been told they are the best cookies that some have ever had.  These were made for a family reunion with two cookies in each food-safe bag, tied with a soft pink ribbon--the favorite color of the matriarch of the family.

Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes

These just might be my new favorite cupcake! The cake is strawberry lemonade flavored and has just enough tang to be light and summery. It is topped in a soft cream cheese frosting that compliments the cake so well. These cupcakes are topped with a fondant flower with an edible pearl center. They are perfect for birthday parties or an extra special gathering with friends.

Transformer Wedding Cake

This wedding cake is as unique as the couple. The bride combined a variety of ideas to come up with her perfect cake. The bottom tier is white fondant with turquoise stripes. The middle tier is hot pink fondant imprinted with a quilted design and silver dragees at the intersection of the lines. The top tier is white fondant with turquoise blue dots trimming the top. Black satin ribbon trims the bottom of each tier, tying it all together.

Princes Castle Cake

This is an fantasy cake that any princess would love! The 11 turrets accent the two tiers that are covered in butter cream. The bottom tier is a white cake filled with butterscotch while the top tier is a white cake filled with our very popular raspberry.

Snowman Army

I made an army of these snowmen for a school Christmas party. Cupcakes are perfect for parties and 30 of these will bring a smile to any face! The cupcakes are a white butter cake with wedding bouquet flavored butter cream and each hat is topped with an edible pearl.

Farm Cake

How I love this cake! I made this for a 3-year-old drawn from inspiration from the wonderful ladies at Pink Cake Box. I love them! The cake is a chocolate pudding cake filled with ding-dong mousse. It is frosted in chocolate butter cream and then covered in fondant. The animals and flowers are hand sculpted out of fondant and gumpaste giving each animal its own personality.

Flower Cookies

These cookies were made for a birthday party. The cookies are incredibly soft and iced with a glaze to be very smooth. They are delicious!

Garden Cupcakes

I must have been in the mood for grass when I made these cupcakes. I had just made the soccer cupcakes when I was approached by a parent to make some unique cupcakes for a school carnival. I came up with these and I love them! The animals are sculpted out of fondant and are 100% edible.

Soccer Cupcakes

These special cupcakes were made for the Butterfly Bandits soccer team! To make these 5-year-olds happy, half are chocolate and half are white cupcakes. The chocolate are filled with our Ding-Dong filling while the white cupcakes are filled with vanilla mousse. They are topped with Butter cream "grass" and an edible soccer ball.

Mindy's Cake

This 3-tier wedding cake is made with the Sour Cream Butter Cake with Raspberry filling. It is also frosted with our signature Wedding Bouquet Buttercream and covered in fondant. Yummy!
Two colors of satin ribbons are at the base of each tier and trimmed with individual edible pearls.

We also made 5 sheet cakes marked in individual slices and placed a small rose-bud in the center of each slice for a beautiful serving presentation. How I wish I would have remembered to take a picture of those!

Princess Pillow Cake

This cake was a bit of a challenge, but I can't wait to do one again. This was made for a very special little girl turning 5 and a crown was later added to the top. It's very sweet.

The coordinating cookies were bagged with ribbons as favors for each of the kids to take home instead of toys.

Polka Dots and Stripes

love the colors and design of this cake. I wish I could take credit for that part, but I borrowed the idea from the pink cake box ladies. I have since also made it for an 8-year-old's baptism. It was a surprise from her mother and she was thrilled!
